PRN-RN: Are you an amazing Healthcare Provider?

Looking for a PRN Home Infusion/Teach and Train RN. Experience with IVIG infusions a plus, but not required if you are great with IVs and are willing to learn!! Looking for an RN to do patient visits within 2 hr drive radius (drive time & patient time paid) This position has very flexible scheduling (within reason for your patient) so you must be very autonomous. It is a REQUIREMENT that you have actively started IVs on patients within the past year.

Must be be able to use and understand electronic mobile devices for mobile documentation and other electronic applications in order to accept assignments. Must have access to internet for online module training and to receive referrals and other important requirements. We reimburse for drive time and patient time!! Make your own schedule!!!

Registered Nurses with Rock star IV skills and great communication skills!

All Registered Nurses are paid at the same rate: $48/hr patient time and $35/hr travel time

Types of services offered: While we do have a broad spectrum of services, the majority of the services you will perform are:

  • Injection Trainings
  • IV Therapy in home
  • Insurance Assessments
  • Lab Draw

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effectively obtain venous access through PIV, Port a Cath, or central line. (Maintain Sterile field when required.)
  • Assessment of patients prior to infusion or injection, monitoring of patient during infusion and post infusion.
  • Verify orders are correct and match prescription in the home.
  • Prepare Medication for Infusion to include:
  • Reconstitution of medication
  • Inspection of vials
  • Pooling of medication if warranted
  • Prepare Pump for Administration
  • Loading of tubing into the pump
  • Programming of pump and/or verify titration is correct.
  • Monitoring and frequent assessment for the entirety of the infusion.
  • Vitals at required intervals
  • Titration of medication at intervals per orders
  • Frequent venous access assessment
  • Discontinuation or securing of venous access
  • Education of patient and family for adverse events and proper communication channels.
  • Electronic documentation completed, signed by patient, and submitted.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Current BLS and/or ACLS certificate. 
  2. Current RN license in this state or compact. (ADN/BSN or higher)
  3. At Least 1 year of nursing experience minimum with a focus in a specialty that requires frequent venous access experience.
  4. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and up to date automobile insurance
  5. Ability to work independently and autonomously.
  6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively relay needs of the patient and nurse for home infusion to the pharmacy and /or other team members.
  7. Excellent critical thinking skills
  8. Ability to schedule directly with patient once the assignment is accepted, complete the assignment and submit the documentation in a timely fashion.
